Examples and Description of Methods Teaching English for Children

hm . . selesai juga tugas mata kuliah English for children yang d berikan minggu lalu.hehe puas, walaupun sepertinya pak dosen aga senyam senyum baca hasil tugasku (tata bahasa inggrisnya ngaco kayaknya) :p
sekedar berbagi, metode2 ini insya Allah bermanfaat buat ibu atau bapa guru yg mengajar di PAUD dalam mengajarkan bhasa inggris pada anak didiknya.
selamat belajar dan mempraktekannya :)

1. story telling: 
a. Nomad Two People and A Bear
b. Story (attached)
c. Make the children sit in a big circle and comfortable with their place. Start with pattern applause for attract attention children. After all of children silent, teacher tell them title of the story. Teacher can stand up to be improvisation maximum. After finished, invite children to discuss about the story and how their opinion.

2. Role Play:
a. Railway Station
b. Role: counter staff, security, machinist, passenger.
c. In the class, teacher making chairs lined like a train and make ticket(of paper given word ticket). Teacher tell about role and characther’s each role. Every child may chose one of role, and than they are play each role with English and teachers observe and guide until the end.

3. Art and Crafs:
a. Make Handphone
b. We will need: small box, white sticker, news paper, glue, spotlight, coloring markers, scissors, masking tape.
c. Teacher tell about material for make a handphone and demonstrate ways that in English (attached). After that, teacher task children to make handphone like a teacher. Teacher observe and help children who can not.
d. after all of children finished, invite children say of number handphone in English.

4. Games:
a. Other People’s Shoes
b. The game for out door.
c. Instructions:
Make children stand in a circle and take of their shoes.
Send children to walk to the right leave their shoses while counting the steps in English. Teacher say “stop!” After 6-7 steps.
Send children to wear the shoes in front of them and ask one of them “big or small?” that shoes.
After all of children say about their feel, task they are to give shoe owner with say “whose is this?”

5.  Show adn Tell:
a. School Equipment
b. Bag, pencil, book, eraser, ruler, colored pencils.
c. Teacher set an example for children, take one of school equipment and say name of that object and usefulness. After that, task children to do like a teacher.

6. Music and movement:
a. Sit Together
b.     Song (attached)
c. When all of children was in the class, teacher tell them that teacher have something new for today. Teacher start sing a song “Sit Together” and dance. Techer repeat vocabulary on a song until children can follow teacher and they are sing and dance together.
